Stamford in Summer.
Emulsion on canvas 32inches in diameter.
I found a large round canvas in a charity shop. After painting over the image, I used it for a view of Stamford which combined my interest in architecture with my love of botanical subjects. It shows St Mary’s Church seen through a tangle of sycamore and willow leaves from the riverside in Water Street.
