These paintings, completed in 2019, were an attempt to produce a ‘Stamford Fantasy’ series, with a possible exhibition of the complete set in the future. Ideas included palm trees growing up between Stamford buildings, King Kong climbing the steeple of all Saints Church, and water rafting down All Saints Street. The paintings shown here met with mixed response. Some people were amused, others bemused. I have decided to complete the series and show them in a new solo exhibition at Stamford Arts Centre scheduled for January 2025.
