I have often attempted flower paintings, which are fiendishly difficult due to the constant fading and changing of the blooms, with little success. I decided to ‘play’ with black and white acrylic paint and a much more amenable vase of faux tulips that I found in a charity shop. The resulting painting does look a bit artificial but by doing it on a large scale it made a more striking design.
