Manchester Panorama
Emulsion on canvas 30x40ins
This was the view from the twelfth floor of the Renaissance Hotel in Manchester where we often stayed when we visited my husband’s family. I have always enjoyed our visits and the juxtaposition of modern architecture with magnificent Victorian buildings has always fascinated me. This view shows the Corn Exchange and Cathedral in the foreground, with the triangular line of the modern football museum overshadowing them. As I painted this, I enjoyed discovering more buildings and even an overhead railway.
