Hambledon Hall, Rutland

My husband and I enjoyed a brief stay here in 2005 at the start of my four year Fine Art degree course. I discovered in this time a great admiration for Picasso, especially his cubist treatment of landscape and architecture. The gables of this old hunting lodge which is now a luxury hotel gave me the idea for a very linear painting in the style of some of Picasso’s earlier works such as ‘The Reservoir, Horta de Ebro’ 1909.
