This is the view from the bedroom of our house in Stamford which was a modern three storey townhouse built in a Georgian style in keeping with the character of Stamford. We looked over a precinct which was quiet and gated but yet was in the busy centre of this bustling market town. I painted the view just before we moved to Uppingham as I wanted a painting as a memento of our time here that I could hang in the new house. It is highly posterised and uses a limited colour palette of emulsion paints.
